Tom graduated from Edison Career & Technology High School in 1968. He was a highly regarded Oriental Rug Specialist serving the Rochester area. Tom was also entrusted with the care of the historic Oriental rugs at the George Eastman Museum. In addition to his professional achievements, he was a member of the Stillwood Study Center in Palmyra, NY. He was a lover of music, especially Bluegrass, and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with his friends and family. Those who gathered around him to share in song often felt the power of his spirit and joy for life. His winters were spent mostly on the Georgia coast on St. Simons Island.
Tom touched many lives through his kindness, loyalty, sense of humor, and unwavering support. Many people considered him as their trusted and caring friend. Tom died of pancreatic cancer. Throughout his illness he displayed dignity, courage, and appreciation for all the love and caring from his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kayla (Elmore) Bovenzi; brothers, Rob Bovenzi (Karen), Jim Bovenzi (Sharon); niece and nephews, close cousins, and many dear friends from near and far who will carry his memory forward.
Tom had a green burial at White Haven Memorial Park on September 23, attended by family.
