Our devoted husband and father, Theodore (Ted) Wilcox, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 with his family by his side. He was a loving husband to his wife of 56 years, Ute. He is survived by his daughters, Tina (Mike) Turner and Tanja Wilcox (Joe Scott); and his granddaughters, Natasha and Yanni Turner.
As a Mathematics Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology, Ted dedicated his career to teaching and inspiring his students, while also continuing to expand his own mathematics knowledge. He enjoyed teaching and educating others about all that he knew. Together with the Rochester Democratic peace activists, Ted fought for peace, justice and equality for his community and beyond. He was a lover of the local arts and music scene, with a special love of pottery. Ted’s second home was in Germany, where he and Ute spent many wonderful summers over the last 50 years. His love, passion and kindness for people made him a good friend to many.
A private family service will be held Saturday, February 27, 11 AM. The live stream may be viewed with this link: https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/17093196 If friends or family would like to have us read a tribute during the service, please send it to Tina at knittingcircle@tinaturnerknits.com.
