Robert "Bob" E. Hayes

Bob passed away on April 25, 2023 at age 86. He was a devoted husband, wonderful dad and caring papa. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gail; children, Carolyn (Tim) Mabb, Todd (Linda) Hayes and Christine (Tim) Van Vessem; grandchildren, Erika (Jared) Hicks, Cameron (Jamie) Mabb, Brian Hayes, Emma Hayes, Sarah Hayes, Emily (Alexander) Orban, Jane (Justin) Bullan, Andrew Van Vessem; great-grandchildren, Leila, Maci, Hannah Hicks and Leo Mabb; sister, Mary Bryant; brother, Jim Hayes.  Predeceased by sister, Joan Stanton; many nieces and nephews. Bob will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, quick wit and a solid “Happy Birthday” harmony.  

The family is grateful for the exceptional medical care provided by Dr. Chrystal Jenkins and Alexandra Codera, PA, of Jewish Senior Life’s Physician House Calls and the compassionate services and support provided by URMC Home Care Hospice team, particularly in the last few weeks.  

A service of reflection and celebration of life will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, 2pm in the Cherry Ridge Chapel at St. Ann’s Community, 900 Cherry Ridge Blvd., Webster 14580. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to URMC Home Care - Hospice Program, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster 14580 (urmc.rochester.edu).
