We regret to inform you of the passing of Robert William Wrona, 81, of Fairport, NY. Robert ("Bob, Rocky, or Boomer") passed suddenly on Dec. 27. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Matthew (Jennifer); sister, Christine; nephews, John and Bob (Galdes); grandchildren, Shannon (Matthew Ketelsen), Brandon Wrona, Brian Wrona; great-grandchildren, Landon and Lila Ketelsen. As a Detroit native, he leaves additional friends and family there.
Bob, losing his mother at 8 years old, recovered from a turbulent childhood through the Army where he served 9 years in France, Turkey, and Ethiopia. He was able to apply his early Army computer science training to civilian life as a Systems Analyst at Chrysler and Xerox, retiring at 58.
In retirement, he enjoyed countless friendships with the kind people at Gananoque Lake (Ontario, Canada), the American Legion (Webster), the VFW (Fairport), and was the President of his bowling league for many years at Webster Bowl. Bob was especially proud of his 56 year marriage with Nancy and his 9 years of military service.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 5, 5:30-8:30 PM at the funeral home (495 N. Winton Rd.). A second celebration of his life will be held at Ellison Park's Pavilion Lodge, Saturday, May 14, 1-10 PM.
