Predeceased by his wife, Nadine; parents, Fred Otto and Augusta (Erling) Zurell; siblings Larry, Arnold, and Paul; and children Norman Kurt Jr. and Noreen. Survived by his daughter Nancy and daughter-in-law Jennifer; grandchildren, Michael and Sarah; godson Matthew Zurell; and many nieces and nephews.
Norman was born and raised in Bristol, CT. After graduating high school, he joined the Connecticut National Guard and served in Germany during the Korean War era. After returning home, he worked for many years at Superior Electric in Bristol, CT and later moved to Rochester, NY to eventually become the head of Rowe Electric Supply Company. Norman was an avid fisherman, church and community volunteer and leader, and successful businessman.
A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 1130 Webster Road Webster, NY 14580 on Thursday (9/28) from 1 - 2PM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Ann’s Community at Cherry Ridge, 900 Cherry Ridge Road, Webster, NY 14580, or to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Meridian Centre Blvd Suite 110, Rochester, NY 14618.
