It is with profound sadness that we announce our beloved mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Casey, went to be with her Lord on January 3, 2025, at 92 years young. Known to many over the years as “Banquet Mary,” she loved people. Whether it was a Notre Dame Club of Rochester event, St. John’s party or picnic, St. Patrick’s Day parade, dancing to the music of her sons’ band performance, a fish fry at Carroll’s, Fourth of July trip to Whiting, or celebrating her children and grandchildren, Mary was sure to have a good time. Irish to the core, she knew how to make the most out of life!
Mary was predeceased by her husband John in 1999; sister in-law, Patricia; brother-in-law, Robert; brother-in-law, Richard; her brothers, John (Valarie), James (Alberta) and David (Zora); her sisters, Rose and Catherine (Thomas). She is survived by her children, Maureen (Ivo), John, Larry (Liz), Dan (Luca), Patrick; and grandchildren, Kelly, Dario, Cullen, Patrick, Brian, Anna, Maggie, Emma, Ellie, Katie and their mom Eileen. She is also survived by her younger sister Nano, as well as numerous nieces and nephews near and far.
Those that knew Mary well knew that she “loved a good funeral!” You are invited to join us in celebrating Mary during her calling hours from 3 pm to 7 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Crawford Funeral Home, 495 Winton Rd. N., Rochester, NY 14610. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Church, Peace of Christ Parish, 553 Humboldt Street, Rochester, New York, 14610.
