Marie Kratochvil May

Rochester: 87, died peacefully on March 22 surrounded by family, after a brief illness. She was the loving mother of Kathryn, Susan, and Christopher (Cynthia). She was class of 1952 School of Nursing at the U of R. Marei married Walt in 1961, from which time raising and nurturing her family became her singular focus. Central to Marie’s life was friendship and community, which she forged and maintained with benevolence, phone calls, greeting cards, and meals at favorite haunts. She was fiercely independent, and as she gradually needed more assistance, her community of friends responded in kind. Marie knew love and generosity, and now she is at peace. Sightings of Marie in her red VW Beetle will be missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 553 Humboldt St. Rochester, NY. Reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dimitri House, 102 N. Union St., Rochester, NY 14607.
