Lois Stratton Obituary

Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the age of 81. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John; children, Thomas (Sujata) Stratton, Linda (Stephen) Palmer, Ann-Marie (Angelo) Giannosa; cherished "son", Somanathan (Indira) Chandra; brother, James Averett; sister-in-law, Donna Averett; treasured grandchildren, Parker and Ellis Palmer, Karthik and Sanjeev Sekharan. Preceded in death by her parents; brother; and son, James Alfred.

Lois was a nurse by training but a stay-at-home mother by choice. She was born in Shavertown, PA and moved at a young age to Binghamton, NY. She fell in love and married John Stratton after a blind date arranged by dear friends. The two raised 3 children along with many of their children's friends, who were treated as family when they needed a soft place to land. Lois was active in Cub Scouts and John's church for years. She truly enjoyed camping with friends at Holiday Hill in Springwater. While she will be missed, we know she will find joy in reuniting with her baby, Jimmy.

A Memorial Service will take place Thursday, February 17, 2 PM, at Trinity Reformed Church, 909 N. Landing Rd. Those wishing to further their mission to support teens in crisis are invited to donate to The Center for Youth (centerforyouth.net) in her memory.
