John J. Rees

It is with great sadness that John passed February 5, 2022 at the age of 89. Born in a small mining town in Porth, South Wales. As a young man he became a coal miner until his dreams of a better future for his young family brought them to Rochester. A life well lived with the love of his life of 66 years, Lilian. 

Predeceased by his brother, Alan Rees. Survived by his wife, Lilian Rees; son, Clive (Diane) Rees; grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) and David (Amy) Rees, Russell Salamone; great-granddaughter, Alexis Salamone; sisters, Mavis Carter and Linda Morris; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends, including Rosemarie and Bob Fishback.

John was a lifelong Mason of the ERAC Lodge 154 and the Tartan Square Club. 

Father, Grandfather, Brethren and Friend to all. “If everyday I could make one person smile, my job was done.”
