Rochester: April 24, 2026 at the age of 89. James is predeceased by his wife, Marcia J. Skellen; son, James A. Skellen; granddaughters, Nichole and Ashley Skellen.
Survived by children, Teresa (Perry) Santillo, Ronald Skellen (Christine Apuzzo), Daniel (Heidi) Skellen; grandchildren, Perry (Annely) Santillo, Jamie Santillo, Amie Santillo (Francis Dykstra), Scott (Nicole) Santillo, Terri (Tony) Gaiteri, Jackson Skellen and Jayce Skellen; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; dear friends, John Robinson and Robin Fogle.
James loved to try his luck at the casino and with lottery scratch offs. He was an enthusiastic coin collector as well. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Special thanks to his granddaughter, Amie Santillo, for the care of her grandfather.
Services will be privately held. Interment at Riverside Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Heart or Lung Association.
