Nail, Herman Maxl USAF (Ret)
Lima Ohio. Formerly of Rochester on March 4, 2014 at 85 years of age. Predeceased by the love of his life of 59 years Alta Mae (Flanigan). Survived by daughters, Cynthia (Alan) Mefferd, Brenda Catalano & Debra Rogala, Sister Dean Hobby, Brother, David (Beverly) Nail, brother-in-law, Gene Miller, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Roy Estes Nail & Martha Opal (Brown) Nail; beloved daughter, Donna; sisters Ina Mae, Lois (Ishmael) & brother, John (Sis) also predeceased him. Born in Quitman, Ark July 27, 1928. Herman entered the US Navy in 1948 & enlisted in the USAF in 1949. He retired from the military after 21 years & spent an additional 10 years with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service before settling in Rochester where he owned a tax accountant business. Herman & Alta were passionate about life & they loved to travel in their motor home, but family was always their first priority.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 10, 2014 (4:00pm - 7:00pm) at CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME (495 N. Winton Rd., between Browncroft & Humboldt) where his funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00am. A military burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
