Helen LaGasse, 89, of Webster, NY, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herbert LaGasse. Helen is survived by her devoted sister, Joanne Milliman; her nephew, Ronald (Suzanne) Milliman; her cherished grand-nieces, Bethany and Jenna Milliman; and her dear friend, Roy DeWitte.
Helen dedicated many years of her professional life to the Kurlash Company, Taylor Instrument, DeRidder, and, more recently, the Eastside YMCA, where she was known for her warmth, dedication, and compassion. A generous and giving soul, she supported numerous charitable organizations, including those that assist wounded veterans and promote animal rescue. In her youth, Helen was recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution with a special award.
A woman of deep faith, Helen was a long-time and active member of Trinity Reformed Church in Brighton, NY. She and her husband, Herb, were married in that very church, and Helen sang in the choir for many years—an expression of her enduring love for music and community.
A memorial service celebrating Helen’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Brighton. A light reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shephard Home, 1959 Five Mile Line Rd, Penfield, NY 14526.
Helen will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering kindness, and the quiet strength with which she touched the lives of so many.
