Helen E. Hook

Helen E. Hook passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 at the age of 89. She is reunited with her beloved husband, William R. Hook; her parents, Raymond and Stella (Urbanik) Van De Viere; and her brother, Rene Van De Viere. 

Helen is survived by her children, Christina (Patrick) McWhinney and Kevin (Julie) Hook; her grandchildren, David (Ileanna) McWhinney, Ryan (Jessica) Hook, and Kyle Hook (Shannon); six great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucy Van De Veire; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. 

Helen lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion to her family, and a gentle spirit that made everyone feel at ease in her presence. She found joy in simple, steady rhythms - especially her daily walks. Whether she was strolling through her neighborhood, taking in the changing seasons, or simply enjoying the fresh air, walking was her way of staying connected to the world around her. It brought her peace, clarity and comfort.

We take solace in knowing that Helen is now walking freely again - unburdened, pain-free, and surrounded by the love that guided her throughout her life.
