Gerald R. Kennard (Jerry) passed away peacefully on the morning of May 2, 2025. Jerry was born to Elsie and Gerald L. Kennard on June 6th 1937. He grew up with three younger brothers, Douglas, Danny and Robert.
Jerry was married to his wife Barbara for 50 years prior to her passing in 2007. Jerry and Barbara raised six children. Mark, Tom, Judi, Susan, David and Debra. They made their home in the city of Rochester, where Jerry worked as a Lithographer, retiring at the age of 62 from Hammer Litho and was a proud member of the Graphic Communication Local 503.
Jerry was a great outdoors man. He liked to hunt and fish with both family and friends. He hunted from Springwater NY to Canada and fished locally as well as Montauk NY and Mazatlán Mexico for Deep Sea Adventures. As much as Jerry enjoyed partaking in the activities himself, his greatest joy was to see his family and friends get a catch.
During the season Jerry could be found weekends at the various race tracks around the area to enjoy watching the dirt races with his family and friends. Jerry also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing on the television. Once football season came around, he would make sure to watch as many games as possible. His favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. He wore the Green and Yellow proudly all year round. In recent years the Buffalo Bills also became a favorite. Jerry enjoyed spending holidays as well as summer picnics with his family during his long life. He was loved by all and will truly be missed.
Jerry was predeceased by his wife Barbara, daughter Susan, son David, brothers Douglas, Danny and Robert as well as sister-in-law Maureen. Jerry is survived by sons Mark (Cathy), Thomas, daughters Judith (Don Miller) and Debra. Sister-in-law Lona Kennard, nieces Christin Kennard, Michelle (Josh) Putnam, great niece Cora Putnam, grandchildren Caitlin and Benjamin Kennard. Denny (Deanna) Bobby (Sue), Brian (Gina) Gill. Great grandchildren Shane (Jordan), Brandon (Ashley) Amanda, Mathew, Alexandra, Kayla and great great-grandson Jameson (Buck). Close family friend Peggy Buckel as well as longtime friend and hunting buddy Jerry Benjamin.
