Webster: September 26, 2014: Predeceased by his wife, Sadie Mae (Blaakman) DeRue. Survived by his children, Judy (Fred) Adams of NC, George (Sheila) DeRue, & Susan (Kevin) McCarthy; grandchildren, Brian (Marilyn) Adams, Matthew (Jennifer) Adams, Sarah (Shawn) Murray, Ariana (CJ) Infantino, Catherine McCarthy, & Jack DeRue. 4 great grandchildren, Bradley, Simon, Grace, Charles & Cameron, Kaylee & McKenzie; sister, Doris Muhs; sister-in-law, Betty Bentzel; also nieces & nephews.
George was a WWII Navy veteran, served 42 years in the NYS Army National Guard, was a mechanic at the Culver Rd. Armory, & a lifelong member of Brighton Reformed Church.
The family will receive friends on MONDAY from 4 - 7 PM at CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME (495 N. Winton Rd., between Browncroft & Humboldt). Funeral Service TUESDAY 10 AM at Brighton Reformed Church (805 Blossom Rd.). Interment Furnaceville Cemetery.
