Evelyn S. Klafehn

Evelyn, known to many as Evie or Ev, passed away on August 26, 2024 one day after her 101st birthday. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Lammert Schumacher; her husbands, Norman Bunting and Arno Klafehn; sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and Robert Carey; step daughter, Judith Kinner; step daughter-in-law, Dianne Klafehn; nephew, Bruce Carey; and niece, Sally Bergener. Evelyn is survived by step sons, William Bunting, Michael (Joan) Klafehn; step son-in-law, Edward (Beverely) Kinner; step grandchildren, Jessica Kinner and Justin Kinner; niece, Barbara (Jeff) Manzi; newphew, Timothy Carey; cousins and many friends.

As a life long resident of Rochester, Evelyn took pride in her over 40-year career at Kodak. She treasured the value of long friendships, as well as the joy of laughter. She will certainly be remembered by friends for her quick wit and humorous quotes such as, "keep the kitchen clean, eat out", being a favorite to many. Evie was also an insatiable correspondent, regularly sending cards to longtime friends into her 99th year. She also diligently kept an updated log of respondents and would send, "are you okay?" inquiries to those she has not heard from. Evie's sunny, energetic outlook will be missed. Evelyn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Following a private interment, family and friends are invited to attend Evelyn's Memorial Service at 1 pm, Saturday, September 7th at Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester, NY 14625.
