Elizabeth G. Stappenbeck (née Griffith), 67, passed away on March 19, 2018 after a brief illness. “Beth” is survived by sons, Charles (Carla) of Savannah, GA and Griffith (Amy) of Webster, NY; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 42 years, Charles Stappenbeck, Sr.; parents, John and Gertrude Griffith; sister, Mary “Peggy” Griffith; and nephew, John Griffith III. Born in Rochester, Beth attended Bloomfield Central School and St. John Fisher College and spent her working years in the fields of banking and human resources.
Throughout her life, Beth kept her Catholic beliefs and ensured that they were passed down to subsequent generations. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was often found at the soccer field, ice rink and in Georgia supporting their many endeavors.
Calling hours will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, March 23rd at the Crawford Funeral Home (495 N. Winton Rd., Rochester, NY). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated the following morning at 11:30 AM at St. Bridget's Church in Bloomfield, NY. Interment will occur at St. Bridget’s Cemetery at a later date.
