Passed away after an unexpected medical event.
Tony was born on January 25,1960 to John Richard Weiler and Mary Eleanor (Sullivan) Weiler, the third of their four children. He was raised on Dale Rd. in a close knit neighborhood bordering Corbett's Glen Nature Park. It was the beloved playground of his youth. After his graduation from Penfield H.S. in 1978, he went on to study Industrial Arts at SUNY Oswego where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Highlighting his college years was his membership in Psi Phi Gamma Fraternity. He had remained an active alumni, continuing to travel regularly to Oswego to support his newest brothers. The close bonds he had with his fraternity brothers brought him joy throughout his life.
Tony met his wife, Anne, in 1989. In 1993, they were married and went on to have two children, John (Jake) Jacob and Katherine (Katie) Mary.
Tony was predeceased by his parents; his brother, John Michael (Mike) Weiler; and his sister, Kathleen (Kathy) Whelehan.
He is survived by his wife and children; his sister, Ann Kelsey and her husband, Boyd Kelsey; and a close network of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tony was a natural outdoorsman who loved camping adventures with his family. He was a hunter and longtime member of the Lent Hill Hunting Club. He was generous with his time and talents, mentoring the members of Boy Scout Troop #31 (Seneca Waterways Council) for many years. He was there for the campouts in all seasons, taught merit badge requirements, served as quartermaster, and on the leadership committee of the troop. He was thrilled to see his son become an Eagle Scout and adventure with him to the Philmont Scout Ranch which had always been a dream of his.
Tony loved all things technical and could be found working on building, remodeling or restoration projects often into the early morning hours. He touched many people's lives through his contracting work. His love of architecture, olde world craftsmanship and hard work showed through in his friendly manner and attention to every detail. He showed up when it mattered, had your back and gave to those in need. He kept us safe and secure.
He will be desperately missed by all those that he left behind. Our hearts are broken by this unexpected loss. He was one of a kind and to be loved by him was to be truly blessed.
If you would like to do something to honor Tony, please consider a donation to the Parkinson's Foundation Greater Rochester Chapter, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Rochester 14620.
