Diana Massecar

Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the age of 94.

Diana was born and raised in Lindenhurst, Long Island and spent her adult life in the Rochester, NY area.

She will be met in heaven by the love of her life, her “Gordy”; her parents Winifred and Harold Fey; brother Herbie, sister Millie and brother in law Bob. She was also pre-deceased by her nephew Bob Kaufer and his beautiful daughter Melissa. Diana is survived by her nephew David Kaufer (Kimberly), great nephew Nicholas (Kassandra) and their daughters Lyla and Amelia; great niece Kyra Kaufer (Sean) and great nephew Evan Kaufer. Diana also leaves behind her great nephew Eric (Patty) Kaufer and their son Oscar, great nephew Andrew (Alyssa) Kaufer and their daughter Diana, and great niece Elizabeth Kaufer.

Diana and her husband Gordon were the epitome of a love story from the movies we love so much. They were both such beautiful people to the center of their core and were always dressed to the nines. He swept her off her feet and they created such a beautiful life together.

Diana was a woman of great faith and a woman that truly lived a life of faith. She was a lifelong volunteer with the Catholic Church. Gordon and Diana spent many years as Eucharistic Ministers and were well loved in their community.

She and Gordy were avid gardeners. They tended to their garden with such love and their favorite time of day was the “cocktail hour”, where the local neighbors and friends would stop in and help close the day with them.

Diana had a zest for life right into her 90’s, an incredible sense of humor and the fire and feistiness of the Irish roots that came before her.
Most of all, she was the best at her role as “Aunt Di” who gave her family a lifetime of wonderful memories they will carry near and dear to them; memories of love and laughter that will be cherished forever. A special thanks to Tom Yandow for his devoted care and support for Diana.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Thursday November 21st at 10:30 am. Interment at Holy Sepulchre to follow.
