Survived by children, Carrie Pask, Mary Pask, John (Missy) Pask; grandchildren, MacKenzie and Morgan.
David received his B.S. in Education from SUNY Brockport (54’) and his M.S. in School Counseling from SUNY Oswego (64’). He served two years in the Army and was a United Nations peacekeeper with the 8th Army near Seoul, Korea.
David began his career teaching in Spencerport and after earning his graduate degree, he moved his family to Pittsford and began working as an Elementary School Guidance Counselor. David spent the rest of his career in the Pittsford School District and worked there until he retired. He touched many lives over the years.
David loved being busy and thrived on helping others. He volunteered thousands of hours at the F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. He enjoyed visiting with patients and was chatty, inquisitive, and never met a stranger. David also volunteered his time as a Stephen’s Minister and counseled fellow congregation members during times of loss, grief, illness and other challenging life events. He was well suited for this role since David was very patient and a good listener.
David enjoyed nature, and especially loved bird watching. He traveled frequently and was very proud of the fact that he was able to visit all 49 states, except Hawaii! He also had a beautiful voice and loved to sing in the church choir. David was a member of Mountain Rise United Church of Christ in Fairport.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 7th at 2 p.m. at Mountain Rise United Church of Christ, 2 Mountain Rise, Fairport, NY. A private burial will be held earlier in the day at Millville Cemetery, Medina, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14620.
