CRAWFORD, DAVID PERRY (K2DPC) (MacDuff, Vanas)
Born in the Bronx on 8/12/1941, passed on 5/9/2026.
Predeceased by his wife, Linda B. Crawford (Bottoni); sister, Susan J. Crawford; parents, Roberta P. (Perry) and R. Kenneth Crawford; and granddaughter, Emily Anne Short. Survived by his longtime companion, Donna Latshaw; children, Charles (Patricia) Crawford, Tamara (James) MacDuff, Michael Vanas, and Stephanie Nuci; grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, Emily, Joscelyn, Declan, and Katie; and great‑granddaughter, Kairi.
Dave graduated from John Marshall High School (1959), Bowling Green State University (1967, Journalism), and Indiana College of Mortuary Science (1972). A U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a Captain with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam (1969–1970) after training with the 101st Airborne Rangers. The R. Kenneth Crawford Funeral Home was established in 1957. The firm was incorporated as The Crawford Funeral Home in 1975, a year after Dave joined his father in business. He owned and operated The Crawford Funeral Home Inc, from 1986 to 2016. He was a dedicated Freemason (ERAC Lodge No. 154, Scottish Rite, and Damascus Shrine). He was active in the Vietnam Veterans of America, the U.S. Army Ranger Association, and local HAM radio groups (RARA, RDXA). A longtime member of Asbury First United Methodist Church, he contributed significantly to the Labyrinth and Columbarium projects.
Calling hours: Wednesday 5/20, 3–7 PM, with a Masonic Service at 6 PM. Public graveside service: Thursday 5/21 at 9 AM, White Haven Memorial Park. Memorial service: 11 AM at Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave, Rochester. Livestream available at www.asburyfirst.org under “Worship.”
