February 5, 2020 two days short of her 85th birthday.
Predeceased by beloved husband, Leon; sisters, Laura Trout and Marjorie Allen. Survived by brothers, Jerome (Cathy) Hansen and Robert Hansen; daughter, Cindy Richardson; and many nieces and nephews.
Caroline was a graduate from Monroe HS where she participated in a work/study program and began her career at Wegmans as a file clerk and retired there as secretary to the Comptroller.
Upon retirement, she and her husband, Lee, were devoted to their church, Evangelical Lutheran Church of Peace. She served as church secretary until the church closed and helped prepare and serve the famous annual Sauerkraut Supper among many, many other meals there.
Caroline became an active member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Reformation where she sang in the choir and helped prepare meals for those in need through Food for the Soul and the Chestnut Café.
She was busy at her recent home at Linden Knoll apartments where she worked the reception desk and store, was in charge of feeding the birds, and served as nurse for resident's house plants requiring some TLC.
Caroline excelled at knitting, crocheting, and coloring and brought comfort to many though her prayer shawls and blankets.
She was a kind, generous, faith-filled, and loving woman. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 9,11 AM, at Evangelical Lutheran Church of The Reformation, 111 N. Chestnut St., Rochester 14604. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or Pines of Peace, 2378 Ridge Rd., Ontario 14519.
