Carole Ann Banke

Carole died peacefully in her own home as she wished, surrounded by her family.

Carole was born and raised in Rochester NY.  She was the daughter of Hubert and Helen Banke who predeceased her.  Carole raised her two sons in the Winton Village area of Rochester where they formed long lasting friendships and she was known as the “Heart of Winstead” and “Miss Carole” by the neighborhood children.Carole retired from Xerox in 2010 after 35 years of service she loved reading music and shopping for eclectic art to decorate her home.

To Carole, family was the most important aspect of her life. She was so proud of her sons and their families, her grandchildren brought her so much joy.

Carole loved her dogs and her daily walks with them added to her friendships with her neighbors and their pets.

Carole leaves behind her son Richard and wife Bernadette. Her son Joshua and his wife Erin. Grandchildren include Nathan, Claire, Olivia and Christopher. Her brothers Glenn Banke, Fred Banke and his wife Susan, several nieces and nephews.  And most importantly, her lifelong friends who have shown their love and support which she was happy to know will continue with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by her loyal companion, Ollie.

The family is grateful to Rochester Regional Health Hospice Care, for their support and to her “daughter” Bernadette for her unselfish and loving care.

Carole’s wishes were that there be no funeral services but rather a celebration of her life in the spring at Ellison Park. The family requests in Lieu of flowers donations to be made to Saint Jude research hospital or the charity of one’s choice.
