Vaughan, Beverly Kent (Barr)
Penfield: June 20, 1932 to September 20, 2014
Predeceased by her parents, Culver Anthony Barr and Clara Kent (Williams) Barr and her husband, Richard B. Vaughan, Sr.. Survived by her son, Richard Vaughan, Jr., brother and sister-in-law, Culver and Kathleen Barr; nieces and nephews, Julie Barr, Kristin Barr, Culver A. Barr II and Randolph Barr, and several grand nieces and nephews.
Born in Rochester, Beverly graduated from West High School, Syracuse University (where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority) and earned her Masters Degrees at the University of Rochester. A teacher and administrator in the Rochester City School District for 30 years, she also taught Education at Nazareth College. Active in her community with the Susan B. Anthony House, member and past president of the American Association of University Women, volunteer at Planned Parenthood; past president of the Syracuse Alumni Club of Rochester and a national Alumni Trustee, and at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She also was a volunteer for CASA in Family Court and she tutored at School No. 9.
The family wishes to publicly thank the staff at the Episcopal Church Home and the Lifetime Care hospice team.
