Asha Naomi Louise Stephens Obituary
With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved Asha, who left this world on Monday, June 29, at the age of 17, surrounded by those who loved her most.
Asha was a quiet, gentle soul who loved deeply. While she kept parts of herself private, those fortunate enough to know her experienced a kindness, loyalty, and love that were unwavering. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and a way of making every family gathering brighter simply by being there.
She found joy in drawing, swimming, watching scary movies, spending time with her friends, and loving her many pets. Above all, she cherished her family and shared an extraordinary bond with her brother, Taber. Their love, laughter, and friendship were truly one of a kind.
For the past two and a half years, Asha faced cancer with incredible courage, quiet strength, and remarkable grace. She endured more than anyone her age ever should, yet she never let her light fade. She continued to smile, love fiercely, and inspire everyone around her with the resilience she showed each day.
Though cancer took Asha far too soon, it never touched her spirit. It never stole her kindness, her laughter, or the love she gave so freely. Those gifts will live on in the countless lives she touched.
We will carry Asha with us in the stories we tell, the flowers we plant, the songs that remind us of her, and in every act of kindness we choose in her honor. She was, and always will be, our sunshine.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 10 at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church (534 Oxford St., Rochester). A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 10th at 2 pm in the Sunset Shelter at Durand Eastman Park (1500 Lakeshore Blvd.).
She will be loved forever, missed beyond words, and remembered always. Until we meet again, sweet Asha.
