Alan John Byrnes was born in New York City in 1942, raised in Schenectady, and finally settled in Rochester after graduating from Boston University. He is predeceased by his parents Sophie Jagiello and John Byrnes and sister Arlene Ritter. He is survived by his children Jennifer (Jason Saxe) and Patrick (Lisa Spall) Byrnes and grandchildren Emma and Aidan Byrnes and Fiona McGoldrick.
Alan enjoyed dogs, Sinatra, model trains, and taking care of his yard. His greatest love, however, were the waters of Lake George in the Adirondacks. He spent his summers in Bolton Landing boating, swimming, and having epic cocktail hours next to the waterfall. So if you are looking for him, that's where he'll be.
Friends may call Wednesday, 5-7 PM at the funeral chapel (495 N. Winton Rd.). In lieu of flowers donations in his honor can be made to the Lake George Land Conservancy (www.lglc.org).
