Brighton: July 21, 2019 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Charles H. Baldwin III and Krista Michalko; granddaughter, Mallory Michalko.
Charlie was born in Newark, NY, son of Charles and Julia (Simon) Baldwin. He was the devoted husband to wife, Nancy; father to son, Charles Horton Baldwin III “Chip” and daughter Krista (Karl) Michalko and he was a loving Grampy to his granddaughter Mallory.
Charlie was a proud graduate of Syracuse University (1956), a DKE member and an especially passionate fan of Syracuse basketball. Over the years he attended games with his friend, Bruce Clark.
After college he was able to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and joined the U.S. Air Force. His service allowed him to travel across Europe. Eventually his path led him to Rochester, where he started a family with Nancy.
Charlie worked at J.P. Morgan Chase Bank for many years and during that time he enjoyed playing softball for the bank’s team at Cobbs Hill Park and other parks. He retired from Rochester Wealth Management. He spent time fishing with many long-time friends every summer in Cape Vincent, and visiting Nancy’s family in Maine. Once a month for 20 years he and his wife enjoyed spending time with their friends through the group’s gourmet dinner club. He helped Nancy with her efforts to support Rochester A.M. Rotary and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow award. On Wednesdays Charlie would go to the Bay Front Restaurant to enjoy breakfast with friends. He especially loved the Rochester Public Market and spent much time helping the Bushart family business.
Charlie was blessed to have many lifelong friendships.
