OUR SERVICES

The Crawford Funeral Home provides a wide range of services to meet the special, individualized needs of each family we serve. We can help with at need assistance for traditonal or memorial services, burials or simple cremation services, transfers to Rochester when death occures away from home, or transfers anywhere in the world from here.

TRADITIONAL FUNERAL SERVICE

If your family's funeral traditions include having the casketed remains of your loved one present for calling hours and a funeral service at either the funeral home or your church we can assist you in providing a meaningful experience. 

GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICE

Some families desire the simplicity of a "graveside" service with the casketed remains being buried in a grave or crypt without formal calling hours or a funeral service. Our funeral staff will meet you at the cemetery where a service led by clergy will provide a quiet time of sharing.

TRADITIONAL FUNERAL SERVICE FOLLOWED BY CREMATION

This service includes all the elements of a traditional funeral service, with or without calling hours.  Following the rites and ceremonies, the remains are transferred to a local crematorium for cremation.

CREMATION FOLLOWED BY A MEMORIAL SERVICE

This service options permits the family to have calling hours at the funeral home without the body being present so they may have a public time to welcome family, friends and co-workers. A memorial service (with or without the cremated remains present) can be held at either our funeral home or your own church.

DIRECT CREMATION WHEN DECISION HAS BEEN MADE NOT TO HAVE A SERVICE

Our direct cremation option might meet the needs of some families if they desire cremation without any services. The family must still decide how or when they wish to memorialize their deceased loved one as current research shows that some form of ceremony is helpful in resolving grief.

MEMORIAL SERVICES

When a traditional burial or entombment has been chosen, most families decide to have a formal ceremony to honor the memory of their deceased loved one.  This Memorial Service is a ceremony  that may be held at our funeral home or an area church It may be delayed a few days or weeks until family members can travel here for the service..

CALLING  HOURS

With or without the casketed body present, calling hours can provide family and friends time to remember and share memories and stories about their deceased loved one. During the calling hours families can use photo boards, display memorabilia or other special items from the deceased's life, play music or videos...all of which is designed to aid family and friends in saying goodbye and beginning a new life without their loved one.

MILITARY SERVICES

All honorably discharged veterans are entitled to MILITARY HONORS when they die. We can help arrange this important farewell to honor and recognize the veteran's military service and sacrifice for our country.

FRATERNAL SERVICES

Fraternal services provide organizations to which the deceased belonged a formal ceremony to properly honor and recognize their departed members. Many fraternal groups have special funeral rituals that they perform at the funeral home or a church (with the approval of clergy).  Examples of organizations that have special funeral rites include, but are not limited to the Masons, Knights of Columbus, Elks, and Odd Fellows, or  woman's organization such as the Order of the Eastern Star, we will help coordinate a service with their organization. VETERANS groups also have special ceremonies they do for members of their post or chapter..

TRANSFER SERVICES

Unfortunately death can happen anywhere and may occur when your loved one is away from home or is traveling in some distant place. We can help families to arrange transfers of the deceased's remains to or from the Rochester area. In  past  years we have  helped families with INTERNATIONAL transfers to and from  places such as Turkey, Great Britain, Italy, Colombia, Vietnam and other locations in Europe and the Far East.
